    Symptoms and Treatment of DepressionDepression has been a part of our lives for as long as humans have been on earth. Everyone has had days when nothing was going right. But it all depends on how each individual deals with this adversity and the degree of depression they feel. Depression is considered the “common cold of psychological disorders.” This is because depression is the most common mood disorder. In fact, depression is increasingly prevalent and the incidence of depressive disorders is increasing rapidly. Before we go any further, we need to know what depression is and what causes it. Depression is an emotion that comes with a strong physical side effect. There are ways to tell when a person is feeling depressed. Usually caused by something that has already happened in that person's life. There are many sources of these factors that can lead to depression. They may include one or more of the following: unhappy relationships, divorce/separation, financial difficulties, problems at work, children leaving home, old age, illness, etc. These events in a person's life usually create stress in their life. Depression starts to become a problem when it starts to spiral out of proportion. Someone might feel a little depressed after a little disappointment, that's normal. However, it is not normal for a person to experience depression that becomes severe or lasts for a prolonged period of time. The same goes for someone who has had a traumatic experience.
