  • Essay / Differences Between Men and Women - 2156

Whenever someone is about to have a baby, the first question is "Is it a boy or a girl?" People ask this question because there is a difference between the two sexes. Many are curious to know whether the baby will turn out to be a gentle lady or a strong young man. Even when we are children, the distinctions are obvious and distinct. A young girl might ask a boy, “What is that?” A young boy might ask a girl, “Where is yours?” It is their first step towards self-discovery. Everyone knows there's a difference, but no one ever stops to see how much there actually is. There are many reasons why a person became the gender they are, which is why the two seem different. Various people have fought for equality over the years, arguing that even though we are all so different, we can all be treated the same. Despite the need for equality between men and women, there are still many differences, such as body image, partner choice, sexuality and stereotypes. When choosing a partner, women look at different attractions than a man. According to Rachel Herz, women are very attracted to a man's scent and it's usually one of the first things a woman looks for when choosing a partner. At first glance, women want to be dazed or hypnotized by the person they came into contact with. Gender is not the only factor a woman looks for when choosing a partner. Many women go further and research things like race, ethnicity, age, and good providers (Our Bodies 186). These affect many women because of the importance they bring to a relationship. Generally, women are looking for someone they can spend their life with, so they look for quality...... middle of paper ...... each gender; it all depends on how these points of view are used which determine the type of person developed.
