    Tate Langdon was a main character in the first season of American Horror Story. Tate was a ghost residing in the murder house. He first appeared in the first episode as a patient of Dr. Ben Harmon. Tate had other siblings, but he is the only one who did not suffer from some sort of mental or physical defect, although he was found to be psychologically disturbed. This is largely due to his father's absence and his mother's neglect when he was a child. Tate reached his breaking point in 1994 when he set fire to his mother's boyfriend, Larry Harvey, for murdering his brother with a pillow, then committed a mass shooting at Westfield High, costing the lives of 15 students (Wikia). After the shooting, Tate returned home where he was killed by a SWAT team and has resided in the murder house ever since. Tate has a very grunge appearance. His personality is described as empty and depressed, shown by bags under his eyes and a gloomy demeanor. There is tension between him and his mother, Constance.
