    The Earth is home to 7 billion people and billions of other living organisms. Among these species, every being depends on water to survive. As our global population increases by approximately 300 million people per year and fresh water supplies cannot support the needs of more than 9.5 billion people, water availability becomes problematic. Conflict regions like the Middle East will be among the first to suffer the delayed consequences of water scarcity. Dinyar Godrej, a writer for the Internationalist, said, referring to the Middle East: “There has been a water problem here for as long as I can remember. »1 While some perceive our water supply to be thriving, the science surrounding this issue strongly disagrees. considering that clean and accessible water represents less than 0.007% of the total water remaining on Earth. Regions experiencing geopolitical tensions and located in relatively dry areas will be the first to feel the effects of the coming water shortage due to their continued lack of cooperation. The purpose of this essay is to study the issue of water shortage in the Middle East. It will also investigate the conflict that will erupt in this tense region due to lack of water and how this huge conflict will be resolved. Changes in our water consumption must be significantly reduced in order to eliminate the potential water shortage that would cause a significant increase in tensions in the Middle East. The amount of water has been declining steadily, but with extreme increases in population growth and consumption rates, countries in dry areas, particularly the Middle East, will feel the colossal effects of a water shortage. Additionally, the problem lacks professional attention. “Without fundamental changes in policies and practices, the situation will worsen in the Arab world, with drastic social, political and economic consequences.10 For the reasons discussed throughout the essay, changes in our consumption of water resources are soon to undergo a radical readjustment in order to eliminate the potential water shortage which will have a considerable impact on the Middle East.
