Opinions are not always protected and making false statements that can damage someone's reputation is a serious offense. In terms of distribution, any information spread on these social networks reaches millions of people in less than a second and can cause more harm to others than intended. Companies are realizing that there is no federal department capable of observing and reprimanding what is said on social media. This is why some create ministries that monitor what is said about them and try to act before harm is done. The content distributed on social networks depends on the people who publish it. We hope that the growing number of defamation cases on social media will serve as a warning to the public that what they say online can lead to serious repercussions. Works Cited Angelotti, Ellyn.
