  • Essay / Visual Images: My Room - 847

Inside the beautifully decorated room with taupe walls with the perfect touch of beige, are colorful accessories with incredible stories waiting to be told. A spotless, uninspiring window hangs at the back of the room. Like a silent guardian observing all the mysterious features of the area. The transparent white curtains fall silently in the dark and lethargic room. In the presence of this turmoil, a sleepy, sleepy, charming room waits to be discovered. Just beyond the screens lightly laden with pollen and dust, the sun struggles to peak at the edge of darkness to cast a bright, enthusiastic beam of light onto the world beyond the doubles impeccable windows. Daylight casts a dazzling light on the various trees and flowers in the woods. Fall leaves, featuring colors of orange, red and mustard, radiate gold inviting the sun on a cool fall day. A wonderful world comes to life behind the porthole. Colossal colors littered with abundant numbers of birds preparing for the long-awaited adventure south and an old toad searching for the perfect log to fall asleep for the winter. The rustic cathedral ceiling contains numerous individually interlocking ash-colored boards, each with well-planned placement. At first glance, it looks like a vintage children's wooden puzzle. Each piece adds a unique element of warmth and old-world charm to an otherwise sleepy and serene room. Each painting represents a perfectly laid out map; flowing rivers, rippling streams weaving their way through an endless expanse of gnarled trees, wooded forests and over sun-glistened hills looking up towards a dark, endless indigo sky. Chocolate and butterscotch colors accentuate the natural beauty of each thin piece of rough, uneven finished wood. Smooth mahogany blades adorn the antique copper-colored ceiling fan. A thin layer of dust remains on the top of each of the six powerful blades. Below the ceiling, hovering eighteen inches above a plush, carved rug, is a monstrous king-size tempurpedic bed. The sturdy oak headboard attaches to a scratched and dented brown metal frame, extending downward to include an identical oak footboard. The fluffy, multi-colored duvet sits atop the huge oak four-poster bed, a never-ending rainbow of colors. The quilt contains yellows as bright as the sun, transitioning to a shaded corn color of a dried cornfield. Browns from oak bark to melted chocolate on a new white shirt.
