    True UnderstandingPart One: Over the course of my life, I have had the opportunity to have an abundance of important influences, role models, and people who have made of me the person I have become. It's not just people who have influenced me, but there have been many situations that have helped me become who I am and define my morals that I act on daily. Although my life had no effect, these influences gave me insight into what is right and wrong, not only based on society, but also religion and moral status. A: My parents, being my only support for so many years, have become some of my parents. the most influential people in my life. They raised me to do what is morally correct, based on Christian faith and their own ethical and moral point of view. Although my parents put a lot of effort into raising me, I believe my current church also provided me with a lot of what is morally right for me. These two factors have contributed a lot to my life, in similar but also different ways. My church not only gave me the steps to know how to decipher what is right or wrong based on my religion, but it also held me accountable in many areas that led me to understand ethics and the societal morals in which we live today. I had these two big influences, I also had bad ones. Although this may seem like a bad thing, it is not. Being from downtown Cleveland, I was able to see a lot of things that others wouldn't be able to see. Using these people as examples, I was able to describe what it actually meant to do what was right and what was wrong, based on societal norms. Other factors, such as my adoptive parents and siblings, were instrumental in teaching me what a document is......this by the Social Work Code of Ethics. If you follow these rules the same way you follow the rules you have been taught all your life, then you will do an excellent job in the profession. At any time you feel like your personal morality is in conflict with that of the profession, you can go talk to your supervisor. Talking to your supervisor and letting them know that you have an ethical or even moral problem will ensure that you do your best. In class we explained that this happens much more early in the social worker's career. I believe that as you grow in the profession, you will begin to acquire the skills necessary to become more professions. Professionalism is not something one wakes up with, however, it is something like ethics and morals, which a person learns over the years..
