  • Essay / Using an ASRS System - 779

Summary CanGo is a small business that retails a variety of products and services, ranging from books and videos to online gaming services. CanGo has had problems in the past with market strategies and formal planning. Liz, the founder of CanGo, and management would like to expand into the online gaming market. Our company, Quality Management Solutions, is currently writing a business plan on how to assist them in the planning process of implementing a storage and retrieval system for online gaming. We'll review the features and benefits of the companies we've reviewed and give them recommendations on which we think will best meet their needs. We will also support them on how to implement this system to help them ensure that their business will be competitive when it opens up to this new market segment. The quality management solutions consultants working on the CanGo project will implement a reliable and cost-effective ASRS system for the CanGo company. Working on the implementation process consists of effective communication from our consultants and their thoughts, recommendations and ideas, which we will combine with our clients' requirements and expectations for a new ASRS system. The initial phase of this implementation is to focus our priorities on implementing this new technology at CanGo and presenting a quality product, which will involve our coverage and research on flexibility, costs, maintenance, capacity, space and the long-term benefits of CanGo by investing in an ASRS. Additionally, we will review and compare the company with other small businesses and their use of their ASRS system and how a highly advanced system will provide flexibility, productivity...... middle of paper ......tions. One of the main deciding factors was the total net present value (NPV) of ASRS, the amount was $6,981,110.76; this is almost three times the NPV of the Hanel supplier. Quality Management Solutions has designed a flowchart to present to CanGo that explains the step-by-step procedure of the Mega Star automated retrieval and storage system. This ASRS will reduce our workforce by an anticipated amount of 8 employees. The cost of saving this significant amount of salary alone is a primary factor in the implementation of this machine for CanGo.ReferencesBoss, R. (2002).
