The Seven Dimensions of ChristianityAccording to Ninian Smart, the seven dimensions of religion include practical and ritual, emotional and experiential, narrative and mythical, ethical and legal, doctrinal and philosophical, social and institutional. , and equipment. The practical and ritual dimension involves rituals and practices that provide spiritual awareness to adherents. The emotional and experiential dimension includes the life-changing experiences experienced by leaders or followers of a religion. The narrative and mythical dimensions are the past stories and documents that preserve the tradition and culture of the religion. The ethical and legal dimension of religion essentially concerns the codes of behavior followed and expected within the religion. The doctrinal and philosophical dimension is the belief system created by leaders for believers. The social and institutional dimension is the organizational structure of religion. Finally, the material dimension includes the works of people and the preservation of sacred places creating a symbolic representation of traditional beliefs. Using these seven dimensions, we will explore how they can be interpreted within the Christian religion. The material dimension of this religion, like the majority of other Christian denominations, is the Bible, of course, there are different forms, notably the King James version or the New. International version, but they only vary in minor aspects when in reality they all have pretty much the same content. They believe that the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His purpose and plan for humanity.
