    In today's society, people tend to focus a lot on women and the issues they have regarding their body image, based on popular culture, stereotypes and other generalizations about how a woman "should look." What we don't realize however is that men struggle just as much as women with their body image and are often not recognized in their struggle to meet society's expectations Men struggle with all kinds of eating and body disorders, just like women and the expectations imposed by the media, women and even other men. treatment because men's struggles are ignored and even overshadowed by women's struggles. Men also experience the harm and risks associated with their efforts to change their body image, for example steroids, and they also deny it. have problems or concerns with their body, as this could make them appear weak to others. are supposed to be “hard”. When we hear about eating disorders, many think of young girls suffering from anorexia or bulimia who are trying to lose weight or achieve a certain physique. In reality, it's not just women who suffer from eating disorders, men also suffer from these disorders, although not in the same way. A recent disorder is becoming increasingly popular among young and older men today. This disorder is known by two nicknames: bigorexia for men obsessed with being bulkier and manorexia for men who want a slimmer appearance, but the medical term is muscle dysmorphia (Barker 1). Technically, muscle dysmorphia is more of a body disorder, but just like an eating disorder, the person suffering from it is obsessed with being built and muscular.
