    Abortion is the conclusion of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of the uterus of a fetus or embryo before its viability . It can also happen unconsciously, which is called a “miscarriage”. For centuries, the Church accepted abortion and the law did not punish it. Anti-abortion laws emerged in the United States in the 19th century, and by the 20th century many states banned abortion. Abortion laws were passed for many reasons such as concern for women's health, the need of the medical profession, culture and religious fear, etc. Laws and court decisions regarding abortion have changed and strongly influenced American politics and public opinion over the past 50 years. Even if court decisions impose severe restrictions on abortions. However, the more abortion is allowed in America, the more accepted it seems to be in today's society. The purpose of this article is to illustrate the history of abortion, harsh legal decisions and their effects on public opinion. Throughout history, American opinions on abortion have been evenly divided between the three options on whether abortion should be offered to those who want it. none without limitations, offered with limitations or whether it should be banned. Although Americans remain divided on the issue of abortion, the majority would like to see stricter limits placed on abortion in the United States. Abortion laws and related cases continue to be a major issue in today's society and will continue to shape American laws. A woman must consider that she is putting her life and that of her baby in danger. However, some people think that having an abortion is a good idea. It is for this reason that the government has not completely abolished abortion, as many women believe that no one should interfere in decision-making regarding their bodies. They believe that their rights should not be violated.
