Planet Earth has an astonishing diversity among living things and the habits they experience have caused species to evolve and adapt to their environment. A tiny part of this diversity will be explored by taking a closer look at Thaumoctopus mimicus, the mimic octopus, and Amorphophallus titanum, the titan arum. The first animal, the mimic octopus, acquired the unique adaptation of being able to impersonate the characteristics of other species as a self-defense mechanism. This octopus likes to live in shallow waters, only between 2 and 12 meters off the coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia, and is restricted to this area.
