Overview of Modern ManagementManagement is what manages daily life, quite smoothly, as everyone goes about their daily lives. “Management, by definition, is the process of achieving organizational goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources. » (Certo, Samuel C, page 5). Leadership, in the role of a manager, involves guiding employees toward the company's goals. Managers are able to accomplish this task by following the management function, which contains several parts. These parts include planning, organizing, influencing and controlling. With these four elements combined, you have established the foundation to become a good manager, with good management skills. Planning is the first of four steps, which indicate that it is an outline of what you are trying to achieve. Planning is simple and straightforward, but mistakes like rushing to viable solutions and not considering them can hugely harm your planning phase. The next step within the management function is organization. Just like at school or at work, it is important to be organized as a manager. The organization determines the work that must be done and the order in which it must be done in order to achieve your goal. Without organization, the planning phase becomes useless when it comes to managing that of your employees. The most social aspect of the management phase would be the influence stage, where the manager must “motivate, lead and direct” his or her employees. The last and final stage of management functions is control. While most managers are able to gain some type of control over their employees' dangers, non-existent performance expectations can destroy the entire basis on which the manager...... middle of paper... ...a head start, so in case a horrible outcome is in the works, it is possible to correct your mistake and move on without much caution. Managers can be born or grown as long as determination is in the mind, and everyone has the ability to achieve what they desire in life as long as they are able to manage themselves properly.
