  • Essay / 2Newton's Law of Motion - 714

Experiment #1 – Variable ForcesNewton's 2nd Law of Motion states that acceleration is directly proportional to the net force when mass is constant. This experiment on variable forces aims to verify this law. In this experiment, this law is tested to be verified in a simple way. Through the use of a force sensor and an accelerometer, the collection of observation and measurement data that a force exerts on a small cart as well as the accelerations of the cart must be determined. The sensor measurements will be used to give meaningful relationships between the net force exerted on the cart, its mass and its acceleration under these conditions. The resulting measurements revealed will verify and determine the relationship between force and acceleration as stated by Newton. Procedure: The file titled “Newton’s 2nd law” must be opened. The mass of the cart as well as the mounting of the sensor and accelerometer must be measured and recorded. After carefully checking the order, the track is leveled and the force sensor is set to 10N and connected to...
