The psychology department also met my expectations, but I wish there were more apparent internship opportunities for a current first-year student. UofA has such a variety of students that sometimes I feel like I'm just another number and I wish I could stand out more than I do now. I hope that in the future I will have a more direct role on campus than I do now. Even though it is not the end of the academic semester, I have accomplished my academic goals with the exception of one course. Math has always been a challenge for me and I believe I will eventually receive a B in class. My goal was to get a 4.0 GPA in the first semester, but I will carry that goal over to next semester. My personal goals were accomplished because I did well in my first semester of college and still love UofA and education in general. This course helped me clarify that I wanted to become a psychiatrist, and this course deepened my understanding and knowledge in the field of psychiatry.
