    Most contemporary psychological treatment approaches are predecessors of ancient and medieval philosophies and theories. Since cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the modern treatment methods and not an independent treatment, different theories have contributed to its current form and application. The purpose of this article is to analyze the treatment approaches that resulted in the emergence of cognitive behavioral therapy. (TCC). The article presents and analyzes the contributions of previous psychological treatment methods to the success of CBT. To this end, the article presents the main treatment methods considered the most important and analyzes their main arguments in detail. It also attempts to show the logical transition from previous treatment methods to CBT. For the purposes of this article, it is best to start from the medieval era where modern psychological treatment began. Many authors would argue that contemporary psychology and psychological treatment has its origins in the movement of Sigmund Freud and post-Freudian psychoanalysis. However, it is just as correct to appreciate the legacy of Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815) to whom we owe the introduction of hypnosis, whose evolution and development will make it possible to unravel the mysteries of a unifying theory of all therapy and healing. Franz Anton Mesmer believed that disease is caused by an imbalance of magnetic fluids in the body which can be corrected by "animal magnetism".
