    To understand developing countries and their purpose of identification, it can be mentioned that “The great battleground for defense and expansion of freedom today is the entire southern half. of the globe, the lands of emerging peoples. Their revolution is the greatest in human history. They seek to end injustice, tyranny and exploitation. More than an end, they seek a beginning” John F. Kennedy 1961. The countries of the South or the Third World are; "group of countries which have a colonial history and which are in the process of developing economically and socially from a status characterized by low income, dependence on agriculture, weak trade relations, a social deprivation for large segments of society and restricted political and civil freedoms. » (Smith, 1996, p. 1). Nevertheless, third world countries can be considered developing countries in terms of the influences and effects exerted on them and their nation by the greater power that ruled them. In this article, some of the reasons for the failure of nation states during the 20th century will be mentioned and discussed using Somalia as an example. As far as the third world is concerned and according to the Peace Fund, a bankrupt institution; State failure has many multidimensional indicators, namely: socially, which ones are; high rate of growing population pressures, mass movements of refugees or internally displaced persons, legacy of group grievances seeking vengeance or group paranoia, chronic and prolonged human flight. On the economic level: unequal economic development according to groups, sudden and/or severe economic decline. On the political level: criminalization and/or delegitimization of the State, progressive deterioration of public services, suspension or arbitrary application of the rule of law and widespread violations of human rights, security apparatus functioning as a "State in the State", rise of
