    Health Problem/ProblemTo begin with, mental disorder is a medical condition that disrupts thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and life daily life of a person. Like chronic illnesses, mental illness is a medical condition that often results in a diminished ability to cope with the ordinary demands of life. Mental disorders are serious depending on the severity of the illness. An illness can be classified as mild, moderate or severe. A service disorder would consist of ongoing treatment and the need for intensive support to do many things despite being a less serious mental illness. A serious disorder would concern people suffering from diseases affecting the brain. An abnormal balance of brain chemicals has been linked to mental illness. This person would have delusions and hallucinations that cannot be controlled by their good state of mind. Some examples of serious mental disorders include post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance abuse, and personality disorders. A mental disorder cannot and will not strike anyone. “They are not the result of a weak person or a bad upbringing” (2006). Additionally, many different conditions are recognized as mental disorders (WebMD, 2012). The 10 most diagnosed mental disorders are bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, panic disorder, anxiety disorders, phobias, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, eating disorders, personality disorders and mood disorders. People with anxiety disorders react with fear to certain objects or situations.
