In this quote, the speaker Bottom wonders why everyone is afraid of him. He doesn't realize that, as a joke, the trickster Puck has put a donkey's head on his shoulders. This causes all his companions to fear him and run away. This is an example of the comedy involved in this play. The funniest part of this play seems to be when Puck, the trickster, keeps mixing up the people he's tasked with putting the love juice into. . The first example of this mistake from Puck is where he puts love juice in Lysander's eyes, mistaking him for Demetrius.
