  • Essay / ISRO - 743

On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, India successfully launched a rocket from an island in the Bay of Bengal to the planet Mars. The objective of the mission was to explore the structure, morphology and mineralogy of the surface. They also wanted to see if they could communicate and navigate in space to allow the rocket to survive and orbit the Earth (Mars Orbiter Mission, n.d.). On the other hand, India had another objective for its mission: a race against the Chinese, in other words, a cold war. Furthermore, according to Pallava Bagla (2013), in the article on ISRO's launch of India's first spacecraft to Mars, he mentioned, "There is a lot of national pride involved in this", which shows that India is trying to tell the world that it is a strong and highly developed country? In this essay, I will discuss why I support India's space mission. The first reason is that every country has the right to explore and discover new things in space, because the universe does not belong to anyone or any country. India, like any other country that has launched a rocket into space, has the technology developed and many scientists trained to do this kind of work. It was not an easy mission to carry out, as it required years of planning and calculating the distance, speed and influence of the sun and other planets on the space rocket, to make the mission perfectly accomplished. Indian Space Research Organization President Dr. Radhakishnan said, “This is a very complicated mission, but we have the capability to achieve it. We have developed new knowledge and we are confident that we can achieve navigation from Earth to Mars accurately and correctly” (ISRO chief is very optimistic about... middle of paper ..... .effectively because sometimes the only way to succeed and grow is to have a rival and try to win. In this case it was China versus India, both countries producing technology. advanced spacecraft to reach Mars.
