The rose represented Emily's love and secret. This represented Emily's secret because Homer Barron, her husband, was dead in the house. This represented love because Homer Barron was showing his love for Miss Emily. Homer Barron represented death because his wife killed him with a potion she bought (arsenic). A lock of gray hair also symbolized lost love, meaning she lost both of her loves of her life. It also represented wisdom. Wisdom is the sign of aging, which means that it has already lived its life. There is another object that symbolizes concealment (Lime). They use lime to cover up the smell of the house because of the corpse that was there.
