What is an Aeronautical Engineer: Aeronautical engineering is also known as aerospace engineering. This is a complex and rapidly evolving area. In 1958, the first definition of aerospace engineering appeared. The first sketches of flying vehicles were drawn by the famous Leonardo da Vinci. In 1983, manned flight was achieved for the first time. The first breakthrough was made by Sir George Cayley when he first designed an aircraft incorporating a fixed wing for lift. Cayley then turned his attention to gliders and built the first successful model in 1849. Glider flights established a database for aerodynamics and aircraft design. Otto Lilienthal, a German scientist, recorded more than 2,000 glide flights over a five-year period, starting in 1981. The Wright brothers later refined their own design and eventually sold planes to the U.S. military. This was the beginning of aerospace engineering. Training required to become an aeronautical engineer: An aeronautical engineer generally has a bachelor's degree, this diploma is the minimum. It doesn't matter if you have a degree beyond a bachelor's degree, you can get a master's degree and a doctorate, which is what most jobs are looking for. You will need to take two exams for four years of credit, or approximately two hundred and forty credits. One credit is equivalent to a study load of 25 to 30 hours. Some good aeronautical engineering schools include the California Institute of Technology, which is the premier aeronautical engineering school. The next schools in the top five colleges are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Michigan Ann Harbor, and finally Georgia Institute of Technology. Job Opportunities: Some of the job opportunities available to you are Airframe Design Engineer, Director of a. ..... middle of paper ...... and no space shuttles because no one was educated for that. How Aeronautical Engineering Impacted the World: Aeronautical engineering has a great impact on the world because it has changed transportation. Now, people who have to travel a long distance simply book their flight. Aeronautical engineering has also changed space travel. We would never have gone to the Moon and back without aeronautical and aerospace engineering. Positive and negative impacts on our society (resulting social, political or economic changes) Some positive and negative effects of aeronautical engineering are negative is that aeronautical engineering is quite expensive in government fees for the funding research into new aeronautical engineering. One positive point is that they are changing transportation like spaceships, Mars rover, airplanes and many more..
