  • Essay / Macbeth: The Tragic Hero Turned Villain - 1184

The prophecy comes true and Macbeth is about to become king. At this point in the story, Macbeth appears as a tragic hero. We don't know what will happen in the future, the only evidence is what we have already seen in the first two acts. We can see deep in his heart that he knows he is wrong, but he does it anyway. Macbeth probably won't have a happy ending. In his mind, Macbeth tells himself that the plan was a success. He thinks that he doesn't look guilty at all and that the reasons he has given in his head are enough for him not to look guilty. This reader thinks his guilt will eventually eat him alive from the inside. He already had doubts before killing the king, so one couldn't imagine how guilty he would feel after knowing what he had done to all those people.
