  • Essay / Causes of the Decembrist Revolutions - 656

Decembrist UprisingThe Russian rebels did not like the way the monarchy had all the power and the peasants were treated very poorly. It also started because an heir of the tsar was supposed to become tsar, but he married a woman who didn't have enough royal blood, so they changed it. It was linked to the Western world because they wanted a revolution like France and Britain. Only, they divided into two groups, one went south to kyiv, it was the group that wanted a republic as government, like France, while the people from the north, to Russia, wanted to be like Great Britain. The British government was that of a queen and a king, but there was also a government. In the end, the five most important figures of this revolution were hanged, but the ropes broke and they did not die. There is this rule that if you survive when you are hanged you are free, but the Tsar ignored this rule and was hanged. once again, this one, they are dead. It took time, as many revolutions in the Western world did, but this one didn't go very far, there had to be another in 1917. February Revolution The Russians lost confidence in the Tsar. The government was corrupt, money was losing its value, there was inflation and people were being used and barely making money. It was a horrible lifestyle. To end this battle and the war, Lenin forced the Tsar to surrender and Lenin got 100% of the land they started fighting for in 1825. Well, let's see how that happened in a logic of war. This first date is important for Russia because it marks the beginning of a very long and difficult revolutionary process. It's like most other revolutions in the West, mainly in France from what I know. What I mean is there's the first revolution, in this case it's the Decembrist uprising, the dictator says "Okay, I give up." but then, a few years later, another dictator comes and takes power or the same dictator starts again what he was doing before. In the land of Russia, the tsars rule, then they are told that they are not governing properly, they ignore it, kill the revolts and continue their daily lives. After about 90 years, the tsars begin what they just did
