    For many years, scientists and researchers have been paying attention to the bay. Millions of dollars and hundreds of hours were spent to restore the bay to its splendor. However, despite everything that has been done, the bay is still in danger and the work is far from complete. In 2005, the health status of the bay was rated ā€œDā€. (Chesapeake Bay Restoration) This is not ideal for a project that has been trying to restore the bay since the 1980s. Many people can't understand what is happening in the bay. Money and time have been spent, many answers have been found and solutions are ready to be implemented, so what is the problem? One factor is the lack of accountability taken by political leaders. In 1984, a law was signed by political leaders that began the restoration of the bay. The problem is that there are no serious consequences if the requirements established by legislation are not followed. As a result, ninety percent of the bay's waters are in violation of the law and no one is held accountable. (Bay Accord efforts are in vain) If the people who run this country cannot be held accountable, how can we expect ordinary citizens to do their jobs ?
