The 5 agents of political socialization go through the family, education, peers, religious influence and the media. Family has a strong influence on political thinking, as some children automatically choose the same political party as their parents. Education is one of the primary sources of socialization, as children receive information about politics at school and participate in flag salutes or pledges in class. Peers can also influence others if they are politically involved, which is also of interest to their friends. Religious influence will shape a person's attitude towards politics, as many religions have their own beliefs, such as Roman Catholics being liberal. The media certainly has an influence on every person when it comes to politics because Americans spend a lot of time watching television and people get information through the media and create certain attitudes regarding politics.
