Causes of Obesity: According to the National Institute of Health, the most familiar causes of obesity can be categorized into four causes; lifestyle, environmental, hereditary and medical causes2. Livestrong, a magazine specializing in health issues, reported that our environment and daily routine influence obesity in the sense that people become inactive. Inactivity can be based on two factors: physical factors and emotional factors3. Lack of exercise: Technology, which is developing rapidly in everyday life, aims to make people's lives easier by providing passive shortcuts, making them lazy4. This action leads to a lack of movement and exercise. Technology therefore indirectly causes obesity5. A person's environment can also affect their health. People stopped buying healthy foods due to unavailability and cost concerns.4 They started eating fast, unhealthy, high-fat meals. This phenomenon is also supported by food companies who encourage this movement towards an unhealthy lifestyle by presenting fast food as more delicious, cheaper and more energetic6. Gender: Statistics have shown that around 31% of women are obese, compared to around 18% of men. .7 Women are more affected by obesity due to their lifestyle. Its causes can range from simply eating too much, to not exercising enough, to trying to quit smoking. Treatment for this condition can be as simple as following a proper diet, exercise, or a program planned by your doctor. Obesity can be hereditary or result from any of the causes mentioned above. This is a serious issue to address but one that can be handled easily.
