    This review primarily evaluates areas of literature regarding the themes of media gender representations and the research approaches that have been adopted in this area. Many literary discoveries formed around these topics have covered television series as well as other media formats, but few studies have looked at a collection of television series referencing the same writer to analyze the comparison and contrast of representation . With gender identity research, much is constructed through discourse representation. More importantly, femininity is a strong dominance ideology that suggests “appropriate” behavior for women (Goffman, 1976; Macdonald, 1995).
