    IntroductionThis article attempts to address the problem of air pollution with a feasible solution in Kabul city, which today poses a virtual threat to the lives of citizens of Kabul. The city of Kabul was designed for around a million people and was a refuge for its residents, but Kabul is now home to around five million residents. Therefore, since Kabul is known as the city of hope and opportunities, it has faced large-scale immigration and unplanned housing, which has made Kabul one of the dirtiest cities in the world. After more than three decades of conflict, Afghanistan is busy rebuilding and establishing itself. Many pre-existing services, facilities and capabilities have been destroyed by war or no longer meet the growing demands of the population. As the economy grows, the demand for energy and mobility increases. Households and industries are forced to use adulterated fuels and even waste as fuel for heating and cooking. Additionally, second-hand vehicles using poor quality fuel and producing high emission rates are increasingly being imported into Afghanistan. The main sources of air pollution in Afghanistan are the transport and energy sectors. The main pollutant in the country is particulate matter. The predicted ambient concentrations are very high and are likely to cause significant impacts on the health of the population. Toxic gas emissions can be expected from the use of plastic and rubber as fuels. After more than 30 years, this will be the first time in decades that environmental issues, such as air quality, will receive special attention. Afghanistan is still in the early stages of establishing its capacity to manage air quality. To this end, the legislature must pass laws that would require the media to devote a certain portion of their time and resources to protecting the environment. Different environmental protection campaigns and mechanisms covering different age groups and members of society can be designed and promoted. Internet is another good tool for this type of campaigns and public awareness in Kabul and even in the provinces. For example, a Facebook page can be created under the name NEPA, which publishes very encouraging information about city life, reports on environmental pollution and its risks to human beings, academic information on importance of the environment for good health, and creates volunteer events to clean the city, plant trees and undertake greenery projects.
