    It would be difficult not to notice the similarities between these two literary works. It would also be hard not to notice the way violence controls the fates of the characters in these stories. One violent act leads to another, which leads to another. The characters end up becoming focused and obsessed with revenge. It consumes them and becomes all they can think about. They become agitated, crazy, and just a completely different person because of how they allow themselves to be controlled by violence. Their life becomes a shell of what they were, everything changes. Their words, actions and thoughts change. The way they perceive life and what is important is changed. All because of violence. Violence controls people more than they want to admit. It's a sad reality. It's easy to give in to violent thoughts, and the average person will. It takes a strong person to understand that fighting fire with fire may not be the best idea. An eye for an eye isn't always the best motto. Instead, turn the other cheek. Be the bigger person. It may not be the most popular decision, but it will benefit you much more in the long run. It won't be easy, but the ability to do difficult things is what separates the strong from the weak.
