No matter what happened, there was always someone to support me. When I upset one family, I could go to the other and ask their advice on what to do. I always had a double vacation, which meant I had two great dinners on each vacation. It can be difficult being in a divorced family, but one thing I've learned is that it's up to you to decide how the situation will affect you. Some might let this be the end all be all and never get out of the fighting stage. But I did it and I promise you that once you leave this stage, you will be able to shine a light on the good side of your situation. In my case, I gained two extraordinary families without whom I would not be the person I am.
