  • Essay / Protecting our water resources - 1451

In today's society, water is like a survival kit in which it constitutes one of the most important resources for the environment and people. Water resources can be used in the workplace, in agriculture and at home. Humans also rely on water resources for drinking and staying healthy because they are so pure and rich in nutrients. The United States Geological Survey (2010) shows the percentage of water resource use across the United States in 2000, such as livestock 1%, public supply 13%, aquaculture 1%, l irrigation (an artificial application of water to the soil 40%). %, industrial 5%, electrical energy 48%, domestic (self-supply) 1%, thermoelectric energy 39% and mining 1%. The above example proves that water resources are used for many reasons and people cannot do without them in life. I would like to first explain why it is important to protect water resources as well as prevent excessive water use and why water might become unavailable. However, water is a vital resource that humans need to live. There are many water-related problems that the environment and humans face, such as water stress. Often the environment and people may require a large amount of water. Therefore, water stress occurs due to the high demand for water over time. too much water available in which climate change may decrease the supply of fresh water (Dhar & Mazumdar, 2009). When the population becomes overcrowded, water scarcity becomes a problem and water conservation can become a problem. Rapid population growth could lead to major water shortages (Sawin, 2003). Pipe networks...... middle of paper ......gen being the first, water rather than food. Humans can go 30 to 40 days without food, but without water we can only survive for a few days; However, water is the main essential resource. Without it, living and non-living factors will not survive (Lenntech, 2009). Daily life would not be the same without fresh water, which is a renewable resource. Society must put an end to these problems and prevent water loss from happening again in the future. I believe that action plans must be implemented, strategies must be used, time management must be applied and problems must be solved. It may be impossible to identify the problems that cause the loss of water resources; However, there are many ways to prevent these problems from occurring, through global awareness of the importance of conserving water and avoiding the loss of water resources..
