    so I can get my associate's degree. I would love to attend Auburn University. While I attend Auburn, I should take some fire science classes. Many people have told me that Auburn has a good fire science program. After finishing university, I should start training. Training is typically provided after someone is hired for an entry-level position. Training programs typically last from six weeks to four months. The skills I will need to become a firefighter are: I must be cooperative, dependent, have integrity, care for others, have self-control, and I must demonstrate stress tolerance. To become a firefighter, I may need my emergency medical technician certification. After completing the training, I should find a job. Firefighters enjoy very good benefits, including vacation pay, health insurance, early retirement, and a pension plan. Firefighters can be promoted to engineer, fire lieutenant, fire captain, battalion chief, assistant chief, assistant chief and finally firefighter.
