(STEP) Although the term "e-waste" is a general term, it can be assumed that it covers all types of items that use electricity. Today, e-waste is becoming a very formidable and significant problem all over the world. The Environmental Protection Agency supports the idea that there are four most common ways to solve the e-waste problem: landfill, incineration, reuse and recycling. This essay will first discuss the main reasons why e-waste is a global problem. This article will demonstrate that there are 4 most conventional approaches to solving the e-waste problem and prove that recycling is the most beneficial. There are many reasons why e-waste is one of the most significant problems facing the world today. The very first of these is the increasing amount of electronic devices that become waste. As noted in the EPA report on electronic waste management in the United States, approximately 1,824.8 tons of electronic waste were produced between 2003 and 2005. (EPA, 2007). In addition to this, the European Environment Agency estimated that in the 1990s, Europe produced around 6.5 to 7.5 million tonnes per year, and each year this figure increases to around 16 at 28 percent. (European Environment Agency, 2002). Thus, only in Europe and the United States, approximately 20 million tons of electronic waste are produced each year. Therefore, after a few years, human civilization will face the problem of lack of territory to live in. The additional problem with e-waste is the amount of dangerous and valuable materials that make it up. Recent studies conducted by the University of Florida have proven that electronic waste like the cathode, the medium of paper, is essential to the future of all humanity. Therefore, recycling is the best way to solve the difficult problem of electronic waste. So, the problem of e-waste is a very difficult and complicated problem because it has a dangerous impact on the environment. Therefore, it can cause serious illnesses among humans and destroy the natural conditions of the Earth. Every year the amount of electronic waste increases and it is necessary to resolve this complication.
