    The book I read is called The Children of Hurin. This is an early section of the Middle-earth series written by JRR Tolkien. The book was published in 2007 by Houghton Miflfin. Tolkien began writing the book in the mid-1910s but never finished it. However, his son, Christopher Tolkien, used the notes Tolkien made to complete the book. I chose this book because I had read other Tolkien books and wanted to know more about the years leading up to The Hobbit. The story begins with Húrin, as his name suggests. Húrin was a human who lived in a city called Dor-lomin with his brother Huor, while a company of orc scouts attacked the company. The brothers were the only ones who survived and got lost and would have died if not for the eagles who picked them up and delivered them to Gondolin. Although the elves did not allow humans to enter the secret city of Gondolin, they found favor with the king and remained as his guests for almost a year.
