    Have you ever felt defeated in the changing and ever-changing worlds of technology and mass media? Most parents today work hard to find a balance between trying to keep up and staying ahead of what their children are doing. Between devices like cell phones, iPods and other music players with Internet access, gaming systems as good as yesterday's computers, and with all this exposure to mass media, how can you be sure that your child is exposed to appropriate content. ? As children get older, too much screen time can interfere with activities such as physical activity, reading, homework, playing with others, and being with family. Although teenagers are not alone, adults are not much different from teenagers in that they spend too much time on gadgets; the effects of this also come with all kinds of dangers, as well as major benefits that help teens understand who they are. There is no doubt that this has major advantages. “The discussions and debates would be endless, but the past of the present, natural or artificial, technological evolution or not, I believe it is the fundamental human relationship that binds us together” (Lucksom). By piloting this strange world, young adolescents develop the expertise essential to their academic success and, eventually, their ability to compete in this global economy. The same digital screens that give young adolescents access to the world of friends, entertainment and information also give teleworkers, Internet marketers and producers full access to these screens. In addition to having fun and communicating 53 hours a day, young children and youth consume powerful information that will help them understand who they are and how they should think and care...... middle of paper . ..... re- them with the others. The child only needs to have technology that suits them, just because their peers can have it doesn't mean another child should.
