    Participation in China's Urban PlanningIntroductionWith the development of society and economy, public participation is a popular topic that attracts people from different fields. Based on various urban planning theories, a large number of market economy countries have successively established a public participation system in the field of urban planning. These successful experiences provide a good guide to use as a reference for Chinese urban planning. Changes in Chinese politics, economic system and social culture also provide an opportunity to bring new change to China's urban planning system. This article mainly introduces three planning theories that represent different degrees of participation in urban planning, and then an analysis of these three theories in relation to the status of urban planning in China will be provided. At the end of this article, I will present several improvements to the challenges of urban planning in China.
