  • Essay / Human Thought - 888

Information processing theory sheds light on the systematic description of the mechanism of human thought that benefits the assimilation of cognitive development. It starts with some input and, after processing, the brain provides some sort of output. All humans have two distinct modes of processing information called analytical thinking and intuitive thinking, which develop during the adolescent period. Analytical thinking requires a state of focused attention, brain capacity, intellectual maturity, motivation, and practice (Berger 367). Intuitive thinking involves prior beliefs rather than logical thinking. In intuitive thinking, the thinking process bounces off stored feelings and memories and does not analyze the situation. Intuitive thoughts are impulsive, rapid, and can result from excessive hormone production during adolescence. Egocentrism first manifests itself during the playing years, in the age range of two to six years. Play Year children think that everyone sees what they see. For example, if he sees the front of the doll and the adult sees the back of the doll, the child will think that the adult also sees the front of the doll. Adolescent egocentrism, on the other hand, thinks they are socially important and unique without knowing what others really think of them. They focus a lot on their social status, so it is crucial for them to analyze how they look in their social world. They think intensely, but not always realistically, about their future possibilities. This type of behavior makes them self-conscious and gives them a feeling of uniqueness. This type of behavior pushes them to implement three false assumptions called the invincibility fable, personal fable and imaginary public. In fabulous invincibility... middle of paper ...... I felt very different from my friends and felt very overweight, unusually tall, unattractive and overall ugly. I changed my diet, started wearing bulky clothes, and secretly wore makeup. Of course, I got past this phase with the help of my friends and family and realized that appearance is not as important as one might think. I would say it was a turning point in my life. I think intuitive thinking is an important experience; it's fast and emotional, and generally not destructive. This is a sign of growth in cognition. Adolescents of this period value the opinions of others to reflect on their own existence (Berger 369). It is effective to use formal and analytical thinking in science classes and to use intuitive thinking in personal problems. It is very important that adults encourage adolescents to analyze the different possibilities of a situation..
